SpaceX: Groundbreaking Starship Is Substantially Larger Than Any Other Rocket In History

Starship which has completed 11 flights so far is revolutionary in many ways and one of the most overlooked is that it is by far the largest flying object of all time. At 150 tons, Starship is substantially larger than any other flying object ever successful flown.

The Space Shuttle which was the most public part of the American space program for over two decades from 1981-2003 and was the first reusable space vehicle. At 27 tons it is less than 1/5 the size of Starship.

The most famous rocket to have flown, Saturn 5, which took the NASA astronauts to the moon and back weighed in at 140 tons some 10 tons less than Starship which unlike the Saturn 5 is entirely reusable.

Even the reusable Falcon versions including the Superheavy are also dwarfed by the Starship which is dozens of tons larger than any of those other rockets currently flying.

Starship Ramp Up In The Future

Current plans for the Starship are for weekly flights by the middle of 2027 with twice weekly flights by the later half of 2027. The increase in capacity will be used for building out and improving the Starlink data services provider which currently has over 5 million customers.

The Association of Western Employers understands the importance of high speed data services are to nearly every organization and the employees that are building their careers.
