GAS: December Gas Prices Add Christmas Cheer With 16 Cents Drop Nationally

December provided gifts for drivers nearly every day of the month as gas prices at the pump drop 16 cents to $2.89 from $3.05 which was the average price in November 2025 according to the daily national price survey by AAA.

Drivers in California enjoyed an even better month with a drop of 27 cents on average to $4.18 which is 45% higher than even high cost states like Hawaii, New York, Oregon, and Washington.
