GAS PRICES: California Drivers Still Pay 52% More At Pump Than National Average
California drivers once again face the highest prices at the pump as the daily average price for a gallon of gas in the Golden State stands at $4.54 according to the AAA daily price tracker.
While the national stands at just over $2.99 down nearly 16 cents in a month, a handful of high cost states including Hawaii, Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and New York face prices 10 to 40% higher than the national average, with California being an extra 14 cents a gallon higher than even Hawaii.
While drivers feel the pinch at the pump, the cost of fuel shows up in nearly every good and service throughout the economy whether in the increased cost of transportation or because of petroleum’s role in nearly every good in daily use.
