SpaceX Completes The 500th Flight Of A Previously Flown Rocket

Continuing to turn science fiction into fact, SpaceX has completed its 500th successful flight of what is increasingly being called ‘flight proven’ rockets.

In the early years of this breakthrough technology, the most common term used was ‘reused’ and even the shift towards the widespread use of ‘flight proven’ shows how in the future vehicles that have been flown already may proven more worthy than those that are new.

Further SpaceX is on track to break last years record of 147 successful flights likely by 10-15%.

One of the key components of the SpaceX story of expanding successful launches is its increasing use of California’s Vandenburg Space Base in Ventura County, CA to launch the backbone of its current fleet, the Falcon 9 rocket. Launches at the California plant, which is ideal for achieving North South Polar Orbit have increased by double digits this year with the increasing build out of the Starlink satellite communications system.
