As Starlink Places 9,000 Satellite Into Orbit Subscribers Top 8 Million

Growing rapidly from 2022 when it signed up its 1 millionth subscriber, Starlink has now become the seventh largest US based internet service provider with more than 8 million monthly subscribers according to reporting in Broadband Breakfast.

In addition, Starlink continues to bring more satellites online as it just put its 9,000 satellite into service this month as well. As an organization they have 12,000 permitted satellite positions in low earth orbit and appear on their way to fulfill that amount within the next few years.

As a size comparison, despite being the youngest largest scale internet service provider in the national marketplace, Starlink currently is the seventh largest provider with ATT serving roughly 15 million and the largest two largest providers, Comcast/Xfinity serving roughly 32 million monthly.
