NAVY: Strengthening Digital Capabilities By Opening Doors To New Technologies And Partners

As the US military looks to speed development of groundbreaking and effective responses to new threats, the Navy is ramping up a consolidation of its information technology systems while at the same time increasing its capability to work with a wide array of contractors many of whom have not previously had access to military purchasing contracts according to a report in Defense Scoop.

An example of the Navy and US military’s commitment to increasing its effectiveness is at NSWC-Corona in Norco, CA where the LETHALITY Consortium has increased the ability of small and mid-range sized specialized contractors to provide services to the Navy.

The impact on the local economy AND the military is not small as NSWC-Corona adds upwards of $1 billion annually by many estimates to the local economy through its research and monitoring capabilities.

According to the analysis in Defense Scoop and elsewhere, the LETHALITY consortium has opened contracting for tens of millions in contracted opportunities to support and expand work at the base and across the Navy. Standing for Leveraging Enterprise Technologies for Holistic AI, Logistics, Integration, Transformation, and Yield (LETHALITY) is opening opportunities for the private contractors in AI, big data, cybersecurity, and specialty organizations across a range of other technology fields.

The US Military’s opening of opportunities to new suppliers and providers very likely will help dozens of organizations to provide career building jobs in a number of fields. We will continue to track this story.
