GAS: California Drivers Face Higher Prices At Pump Than Even Hawaii While Prices Drop 25 Cents In July
California drivers still faced the highest prices at the pump in July with an average price of $5.30 a gallon which is 35% higher than the national average and even higher than Hawaii according to the AAA Gas Price Survey.
Prices eased across the country with the average dropping 22 cents a gallon nationally and by 25 cents in California providing drivers some relief in the busy summer driving season.
While gasoline prices were markedly higher, California’s overall price inflation picture has stayed mostly in sync with the national average for most of the year in the 2-3% annualized range.
