GAS: June Delivers Break In Prices of 12 Cents Nationally and By 15 Cents in California
Drivers in June received a break in prices with costs at the pump dropped by 12 cents on average nationally and 15 cents in California according to the latest AAA National Gas Survey.
California continued to have the highest prices in the nation, even higher than other high cost states like Hawaii, Washington, and Oregon. Prices in the Golden State were on average 35% higher than the national average for June.
In brighter news for California residents, the inflation rate in California remained stable with the rest of the nation. Energy costs, which typically are reflected in the higher cost of nearly every good and service are reflected in the inflation rate as well. In California, which typically measures as the highest cost state for employers and residents alike, while costs remain extremely high, they are not rising faster than the rest of the national economy.
