Foreign Manufactured Humanoid Robotics and Related Tech Banned By FCC

Citing national security concerns similar to defense and infrastructure industries, the Federal Commerce Commission (FCC) has banned the importation of a range of foreign robotics according to reporting from aibusiness.com.

As the technology is quickly utilizing generative intelligence to have the machines become more intuitive and ultimately self regulating, the importance of viewing developments from a national security perspective continues to increase in importance.

"The FCC will continue to do our part to secure America’s critical supply chains," FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said in an FCC release. “With today’s action, the FCC is acting in lock step with our national security agencies to do just that.”

In just the last two years, the market for humanoid and similar types of autonomous or near autonomous robotics has grown globally by over 120% while the output from American manufacturers has grown even faster.

As artificial and generative intelligence, robotics, and related innovations are reshaping markets, the Association of Western Employers will continue to track this and related news.
