Gas Prices Ease Into Summer As Pump Prices Drop By A Penny So Far In June

The downward trend in gasoline prices at the pump continued into June according to AAA as the national average dropped to $3.146 or a little over a penny under early May’s prices.

While drivers in states like California, Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii can face up to a dollar or more in higher prices, the national average provides a solid measure of the economic trend for energy generally.

As Americans are still grappling with the nearly unprecedented sustained inflation of January 2021 through the beginning of 2024 where prices for nearly good and service rose by over 30% across the board, adjustments in the price of gasoline at the pump are especially important.
