As Labor Day Weekend Finishes, Drivers find Gas Prices Up By Nearly 2%

AAA has found that after price stability from May through summer that prices at the pump moved roughly 5 cents in time for Labor Day. While the move is not yet a trend, after 30% across the board from January 2021 through January 2024.

While the AAA national price survey shows that high cost states like California, Oregon, and Washington are up to a dollar or more higher than $3.20 per gallon, and, low cost states like Texas, Florida and elsewhere are well below it, the national pricing average is an effective and quick way for motorists and employers to understand energy cost trends.
