Gas Prices Enter Into Their Fourth Month Of Relative Price Stability
Since early May, on a nationwide basis, prices at the pump have fluctuated less than two cents, according to AAA’s daily pricing analysis.
Where prices stood at just over $3.15 in early May, dropping by less a penny in June to $3.146, following by July’s price at the pump rose again by less than a penny, dropping again in August by over a penny to $3.14.
After three years of stinging inflation and price fluctuations across the board that have on balance left basic consumer prices some 30% higher than they were in January 2021, price stability in energy is second only to dropping prices in providing relief to employers and drivers.
