As National Gas Prices Drop By 3 Cents Per Average, California At The Pump Prices Continue To Rise
As the national gas price on average continued to decline, this week by 3 cents, California prices rose by 2 cents on average according to AAA.
As California drivers face prices that are nearly 52% higher than the national average, no other state even approaches California prices with Hawaiian drivers facing the next highest prices at $4.50 per gallon, followed by Washington State at $4.26 and New York at $3.10.
As the Legislature and the Governor begin their final state budget negotiations for the Fiscal Year of 2025-26 over the next few weeks, it is highly likely that there will be renewed focus on rising gas prices as elected officials receive commuter and trucking company complaints and shoppers see prices continue to rise despite a national drop in the rate of continued inflation.
