SpaceX: First Space Tourist, Now 82, Signs Up For First Space Tourist Flight to Orbit Moon
Dennis Tito, the world’s first space tourist, at 82 years of age has announced that he is in training and on the wait list with his new bride to be the first tourist to orbit the moon when SpaceX makes the flights available according to reporting in aibusiness.
While SpaceX is growing rapidly and having already proven its capability of reusing a rocket previously launched it currently has not announced a timeline for offering orbits around the moon for paying non-astronauts.
Despite this, Dennis Tito made his intentions to continue his decades long interest in space with an orbit of the moon with SpaceX. Tito, whose flight to the International Space Station on a Russian spacecraft in 2001 marked the beginning of the still small space tourism industry has made his goals clear to be the oldest person in space, the first tourist to orbit the moon and with his wife as his companion the first married couple to travel into space and around the moon.
